The life and art of Vivian Tamplin Cooke will be remembered at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, in a ceremonial name change for a baby land portion of the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
She is the namesake for the Vivian T. Cooke Memorial Baby Land, which replaces the former Carver Heights Baby Land.
A larger-than-life statue of a woman holding a baby was created by Cooke in 2011, and overlooks the unmarked graves of infants buried in Lubbock’s past.
