Lubbock’s jobless rate rose slightly from last month but is still below last year’s, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
The local unemployment rate for May was estimated at 5.3 percent, compared to April’s 4.8 percent, according to state unemployment numbers the TWC released on Friday, June 21. Lubbock’s unemployment rate for May 2012 was 5.5 percent.
