AMARILLO — Amarillo police arrested a man who reported a dead woman at the Luxury Inn and Suites, 2915 E. Interstate 40, early Monday.
Lt. Erick Bohannon said a man called to report a dead woman in Room 229 of the motel.
When officers and medical personnel arrived, they found a dead woman in the room, but the man who called to report the death was gone.
Bohannon said Matthew Zimmerman, 31, was detained after responding officers spotted him in the motel parking lot and determined he reported the dead body.
