AMARILLO — Amarillo firefighters battled a blaze for more than an hour late Monday as high winds complicated a fire that engulfed a house on South Van Buren Street.
The first of 30 firefighters arrived at 4101 S. Van Buren St. at 10:28 p.m. Monday — about four minutes after receiving the call — and the fire there was under control at 11:50 p.m., Capt. Jacob Oehlert said.
No injuries were reported. The house was a total losses and at least one house to the south sustained some damage, Oehlert said.
