Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to recognize JA Ranch for conservation efforts

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is planning to recognize the JA Ranch in Armstrong and Donley counties as one of five entities in the state making extraordinary efforts to rejuvenate native habitats.

The ranch, owned by Ninia Bivins and her son Andrew Bivins, was established by their relative Cornelia Adair and her husband Jack Adair and Charles Goodnight in 1876. The ranch encompasses 158,500 acres and is the oldest continuously operated family cattle ranch in the Texas Panhandle, according to a news release.
