AMARILLO — A girl fell more than 18 feet off the West Rockwell Road bridge and landed on Interstate 27 on Tuesday afternoon, April 16, authorities said.
The unidentified teenager was transported by helicopter to a local hospital with injuries authorities said were not life-threatening.
At 4:08 p.m., the girl was walking across the overpass when she went over the south side of the bridge and landed on northbound I-27, authorities said.
A motorist stopped and rendered aid and traffic stopped in both directions, but there were no vehicle accidents, authorities said.
