AMARILLO — Potter County Sheriff’s Lt. Lisa Dawson couldn’t figure out whether to laugh or cry Wednesday morning, April 10, so she did a little bit of each.
“The support and the love that I have with my co-workers is phenomenal,” she said, smiling as tears welled up in her eyes.
Dawson watched as fellow officers took turns getting their heads shaved at the sheriff’s office, 608 S. Pierce St., as a gesture of solidarity after Dawson began chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer.
Sgt. Clay Atkins said about 20 to 30 colleagues were expected to go under the clippers.
