Gov. Rick Perry is scheduled to receive the National Association of Drug Court Professionals’ governor of the year award at a ceremony Wednesday afternoon, April 2, in Lubbock.
According to a news release from the association, Perry is the first governor to be honored with the award in the association’s 25-year history.
The event will take place at 3 p.m. in Judge Ruben Reyes’ 72nd District courtroom. Reyes presides over the drug court in Lubbock County.
Nathan Hecht, chief justice of the Texas Supreme Court, is also scheduled to attend.
