Lubbock leaders have been thinking about future plans regarding the Godeke Branch library in Southwest Lubbock for a long time.
But so far, the thinking and discussions about the matter have yielded no consensus about the best direction to go.
It’s not an easy decision, but we hope something can be done to keep a library branch open in Southwest Lubbock, even if it has to be in a temporary location.
Mayor Glen Robertson told A-J Media in November, “We’re probably going to be without a library in Southwest Lubbock for two to three years.”
