Call it seed money.
Texas Tech announced a $19.3 million research contribution from Bayer CropSciences at a news conference Thursday, Jan. 23.
The contribution, combined with matching funds from the Texas Research Incentive Program, totals $38.6 million -- the largest of its kind in the school's history.
“There are a few days over years upon years that are historic dates for Texas Tech University. This is one of them,” Chancellor Kent Hance told a packed room.
