Tim Cole left Lubbock more than two decades ago a wrongly-convicted rapist.
City leaders hope to bring him back as an inspiration of faith, determination and forgiveness.
Local sculptor Eddie Dixon hopes to finish a 10 foot tall likeness of Cole in May. The sculpture, which will be cast in bronze, will be part of a memorial city leaders are planning to install on 19th Street and University Avenue.

Cory Sessions, Cole’s younger brother, said he was brought to tears when he saw the statue of his brother about two weeks ago.
