CASA of the South Plains is one of this year’s recipients of the Christmas gifts to the Goodfellows.
Although CASA provides advocates for abused or neglected children in this area, not all of its operations are clearly seen.
According to Jennie Hill, executive director of the organization, the name itself is something of a misnomer. CASA is an abbreviation that stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate.
“People often think we house youth,” Hill said. “We don’t house the youth that we work with, we are simply advocates for them.”
