A 66-year-old Shallowater man died Sunday night, Dec. 15, in a single-vehicle accident about 20 miles northwest of Lubbock.
Jack Derwin Clemmer was ejected from his vehicle while driving eastbound on County Road 5200, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.
DPS troopers responded to the accident about 7:30 p.m.
DPS investigators believe Clemmer was approaching the FM 179 intersection and failed to stop at the stop sign and hit an embankment. Clemmer’s vehicle went airborne and flipped into a field.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
