BEAUMONT (AP) — An East Texas man has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison for trying to rob a U.S. Postal Service office last fall.
Federal prosecutors in Beaumont on Wednesday announced the sentence for 30-year-old Keith DeWayne Bailey of Lufkin.
Bailey in June pleaded guilty to post office robbery in the incident last Oct. 1 in Woodville, about 50 miles northwest of Beaumont. He received a 33-month prison term.
Investigators say Bailey entered the post office, handed a worker a note claiming to have a concealed weapon and demanded money.
