Wilma Rachel Collins Baggett, who has shifted into a celebratory mode, was born on March 17, 1912.
She leans forward at a table in her home at Angel’s Arms, eyes bright, and tells a guest that her birthday is always on St. Patrick’s Day.
Is there a special significance in that?
“Yes, there is — Scotch-Irish, I am,” she says confidently. “We’re having a birthday party here, and we’re having a lot of friends.”
Wilma was born in Temple, Bell County. Her earliest memories were of her father coming home with some little reminder of St. Patrick’s Day.
