In Iraq, Shawn Walton put his life on the line for America; as a result of an improvised explosive device in 2007, he lost the only career he ever wanted and now lives with a disability.
But on Wednesday, May 29, he got a little bit back with the dedication of a house Lubbock Homes for Heroes is giving him. In a few months, the house on 108th Street will be a new home for Walton, his wife and his three children.
“It is a dream come true,” Walton said. “It gives us the opportunity to give our girls a place to call home.”
