The decision of All Saints Episcopal School to include off-duty Lubbock police officers as a security measure is a sign of the times. It’s also a proactive approach to making the school safer.
“We’re not reacting to events. We’ve been thinking about it for some years,” All Saints Headmaster Mike Bennett said.
Indeed, all school administrators had reason for concern about the safety of students long before the Dec. 14 mass shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut horrified the nation.
