FORT WORTH — Madison Davis hit a tiebreaking single in the sixth inning and James Hardberger took a no-hitter into the seventh, helping Lubbock Christian High beat Colleyville Covenant Christian 4-3 Tuesday and sweep their TAPPS Class 3A bi-district series in two games.
The Eagles (19-10) won Game 1 of the series 11-0 on Monday behind two-hit, 11-strikeout pitching from Ricky Contreras.
In Game 2, played at LaGrave Field, Davis put LCHS ahead 2-1 in the sixth inning. In the top of the seventh, Brooks Stephenson hit a sacrifice fly and the Eagles padded the lead to 4-1.
