AMARILLO — Thanks to recent moisture, this year’s wildfire season is not supposed to be as bad as 2012’s, much less 2011’s.
“It’s looking positive to where hopefully it will not be an active fire weather season,” National Weather Service Amarillo meteorologist Andrew Moulton said. “Hopefully this year will be really benign and calm on the fire weather front.”
But local fire officials aren’t taking any chances.
“We are geared up and ready,” Randall County Fire Department Chief James Amerson said.
