Tyler Thorne hit a single to right to drive in Zane Ancell for the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning, lifting Coronado to a 7-6 victory over San Angelo Central in a key District 2-5A game on Friday.
With the win, the Mustangs (22-10, 11-4 in 2-5A) hold the tiebreaker over the Bobcats (24-9, 11-4) for the No. 2 playoff seed and can clinch that berth outright with a win today at home over Odessa.
Trevor Paradowski went 2 of 5 and added three RBIs for the Mustangs. Thorne went 4 for 6 and added two RBIs, while Ancell added another RBI, going 3 of 6.
