SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A billionaire philanthropist has given $20 million toward the construction of a children’s hospital in San Antonio.
The San Antonio Express-News reports Friday that the foundation established by Christopher “Kit” Goldsbury gave the largest gift in the 144-year history of the Christus Santa Rosa Health System. The system is converting a downtown health facility into the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. The project has a price tag of $135 million.
Officials say the donation will be used to build a two-story lobby and entrance, among other uses.
