EL PASO, Texas (AP) — A state audit has accused some educators at a West Texas school district of cheating on federal accountability standards.
The El Paso Times reported Sunday that auditors from the Texas Education Agency have concluded that the number of limited English-proficient, or LEP, students at the high school in the Canutillo Independent School District was manipulated during the 2010 and 2011 school years.
The Canutillo school district, with 6,000 students, is located just northwest of El Paso.
