AUSTIN – The way state Sen. Kel Seliger sees it, the oil and gas boom in West Texas and other areas of the state has put a tremendous strain on farm-to-market and county roads.
So, on Tuesday Seliger, R-Amarillo, filed legislation that would fund the transportation needs resulting from increased traffic in oil and gas producing areas of the state.
Seliger said he also co-authored a bill with colleague Carlos Uresti, D-San Antonio, aimed at addressing the transportation needs of those oil and gas-producing areas.
