AUSTIN – A redistricting bill aimed at holding the 2014 primaries on time is advancing in the Texas Legislature and Lubbock Sen. Robert Duncan joins fellow Republican Kel Seliger of Amarillo as a central figure in the two-year battle.
Duncan said Tuesday that on Thursday the Senate State Affairs Committee he chairs will hold a public hearing on the merits of Senate Bill 1524. The measure Seliger authored on March 8 asks the Legislature to adopt for the rest of the decade the interim congressional and legislative maps a federal court in San Antonio drew last year.
