Lubbock residents who looked outside when they got up Wednesday morning saw snow falling. That was an unusual event in Lubbock for April 10, but a much ruder surprise awaited those who had to drive to work.
Many of them experienced white-knuckle driving. They saw wrecked vehicles, flashing police car lights and officers gathering information about accidents that had occurred. At least one car had flipped, and others were stopped at the sides of roads. Tow trucks were kept busy. The final tally was 129 wrecks.
