City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld won’t be placed on paid administrative leave, a split Lubbock City Council decided Thursday, April 11.
But the city will “lawyer up” in response to the city manager’s recent move to hire an attorney, voting 6-0 to seek outside legal counsel as the City Council moves forward in investigating complaints and claims against Dumbauld and Councilman Victor Hernandez.
Councilwoman Latrelle Joy led the charge to place Dumbauld on paid, administrative leave, saying the city manager’s decision to hire an attorney forced the city’s hand.
