A high ranking leader with the Gangster Disciples street gang is now in custody thanks to efforts from the North Texas Fugitive Task Force, which includes troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Kevin Lee Stafford, 31, of Waco — a governor for the Gangster Disciples street gang — was wanted for engaging in organized criminal activities related to a home invasion and murder of a rival gang member in Killeen earlier this year.
His position within the gang is considered to be the highest ranking position, according to DPS.
