A federal judge sentenced an Amarillo orthodontist to more than 4 years in prison Tuesday and ordered him to pay $1.8 million in restitution for bilking the Texas Medicaid Program out of more than $1 million.
U.S. District Judge Mary Lou Robinson sentenced Michael David Goodwin, 63, owner of Goodwin Orthodontics, 3629 Wolflin Ave., to 50 months in federal prison and ordered him to serve three years of supervised release. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to a single count of health care fraud.
