Gov. Rick Perry has ordered all state agencies to lower their flags to half staff in memory of the victims of Wednesday night’s shooting at Fort Hood.
The order is in effect through sunset Friday, April 4.
Perry’s order also encourages cities, counties, businesses and individuals flying the U.S. or Texas flags to also join in the memorial.
“Anita and I send our deepest condolences and prayers to the soldiers, families and support personnel touched by this terrible event,” the governor’s order concludes.
