Texas Tech confirmed that sophomore guard Dusty Hannahs asked for a release on Monday. Tech will grant his release to any school outside the Big 12.
His departure will open up a scholarship for someone else.
Hannahs finished the season with the highest free throw percentage in program history at 92.3 percent.
After starting for most of the nonconference schedule, Hannahs embraced the role of Sixth Man and averaged 7.7 points per game on the season and increased to 8.6 per contest in Big 12 play.
