HOUSTON (AP) — A 74-year-old man has died from a flesh-eating bacteria five days after going fishing on a Texas lake.
KHOU-TV reports Travis Lee Moore died Friday, five days after a fishing trip with four of his brothers on Lake Conroe, a reservoir about 50 miles north of Houston.
Moore’s brother, Robert Moore, says he apparently contracted the infection due to a small scrape on his finger. Moore says the severity of the infection became clear two days after the Sunday fishing trip when it appeared his brother was suffering a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital.
