LEVELLAND — Roderick Lawrence had 16 points and 10 rebounds as No. 5 South Plains College beat Odessa College 94-78 Thursday night, winning the Western Junior College Athletic Conference championship outright.
South Plains (26-4, 13-3) was assured of a No. 1 postseason seed, but the win meant the Texans don’t have to share the title. The Texans finished one game ahead of No. 18 New Mexico Junior College (24-5, 12-4).
