Kaitlynn Dawson threw a run-rule shortened perfect game with 13 strikeouts, leading Coronado past Tascosa 26-0 Tuesday in a District 2-5A softball opener.
Dawson retired all 15 batters she faced, and the 10-run rule came into play after 41/2 innings at Rosenow Field. Only two Tascosa batters put the ball in play against the sophomore righthander, one flying out to center and the other grounding to shortstop.
