BIG SPRING — No. 5 South Plains College got a game-high 25 points from Andre Spight, and the Texans held off No. 24 Howard College for an 83-76 victory in a Western Junior College Athletic Conference showdown Thursday night at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum.
The win keeps the Texans (21-3, 8-2) in a tie for first place in the WJCAC race with Odessa College and snapped a two-game losing streak. SPC has six games remaining.
Howard falls to 19-5, 7-3.
