Lips are welded shut, it seems, when it comes to the search for a new Texas Tech chancellor.
Veteran state Sen. Robert Duncan and U.S. District Judge Robert Junell, who are widely considered leading candidates for the position, declined to comment on the search.
“The Board of Regents is in the process of a nationwide search and we should defer to them,” Duncan, R-Lubbock, said.
In a separate interview, Junell, who served with Duncan in the Texas Legislature, said.
“It is not appropriate for me to say anything,” Junell said. “Let the process work.”
