More than 200 trainees at a San Antonio Air Force base will be given rabies shots as a precaution after bats were discovered in a basic training dormitory. No trainees have reported being bitten.
The U.S. Air Force Joint Base San Antonio said in a news release Sunday that bats have been seen in the dormitory at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland over the past week and a half. Two bats were captured and released into a remote area and one was captured Friday night and will be tested for rabies.
