AUSTIN – Texas Comptroller Susan Combs is renewing her call for action to avoid a water crisis in the state later this century.
Combs released a new water report Tuesday, Jan. 14, telling the Texas Legislature that despite Texas voters approving $2 billion to begin funding the 50-year state water plan last November, more needs to be done to meet the rapidly growing demand for the vital natural resource.
This is the third water report Combs has issued in the last five years – the first in 2009 and the second in 2012.
