AUSTIN — A conservative political action committee began airing television ads Monday attacking Republican U.S. Senate candidate Steve Stockman, a tea party favorite.
The group called Texans for a Conservative Majority bought time on TV stations in Houston, Beaumont and Port Arthur, which are in the heart of Stockman’s congressional district. Lisa Boothe, a spokeswoman for the group, would not say how much the group spent, but added “it was a major television buy.”
The PAC supports incumbent U.S. Sen. John Cornyn in the March 4 Republican primary.
