Lubbock’s sales tax payment this month will be just 1.29 percent higher than last January’s, according to numbers released by State Comptroller Susan Combs.
Lubbock will receive a little over $4.5 million, compared with last year’s $4.47 million.
The comptroller bases January sales tax distribution on November sales.
Lubbock county will receive $1.54 million in sales tax revenue, up 0.58 percent from last year’s $1.53 million.
The state collected $2.25 billion in sales tax revenue in December, up 3.9 percent compared to the same month last year.
