Lubbock Christian University coach Steve Gomez isn’t particularly interested in making a statement to the rest of the Heartland Conference.
But win today, and his Lady Chaparrals might do it anyway.
LCU (10-1, 6-0) hosts Texas A&M International (10-2, 6-0) at 1 p.m. today in a battle for the Heartland Conference lead.
“Every game, you want to make a statement of, ‘We are a quality basketball team,’” Gomez said. “Not necessarily to make a statement at somebody else, but just to validate our standing as a quality team.”
