HOUSTON (AP) — Police say a 17-year-old boy has been killed after he was struck by a car when he ran across a busy Houston freeway on Christmas Eve.
Police say the boy had been a passenger in a car that pulled over on the side of the road late Tuesday. They say they don’t know why the boy got out of the car and ran across the busy road.
The Houston Chronicle reports witnesses told police a vehicle swerved to try to avoid him. Police say it was an SUV behind that vehicle that hit the teenager. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
