A unattended candle sparked a house fire that took fire crews more than an hour to control early Tuesday, Dec. 17, in central Lubbock.
Six fire vehicles responded to the blaze just after 2 a.m. in the 1600 block of 23rd Street, according to a statement from Lubbock Fire Rescue.
No injuries were reported, but one woman was displaced. The South Plains Chapter of the Red Cross assisted the woman. The unattended candle was left in the home’s living room.
