SAC honors eight
from Wayland, LCU
Five athletes from Wayland Baptist and three from Lubbock Christian University were named Sooner Athletic Conference athletes of the week for last week’s performances.
LCU freshmen Ashton Bell and Katera Eltsosie were named softball player and pitcher of the week, respectively, after No. 6 LCU swept a four-game series from No. 13 St. Gregory’s. Bell, from Frenship, went 8 for 11 with two doubles and a triple. Eltsosie went 3-0 with a 1.66 earned-run average in the series.
