A Lubbock police officer wounded in the line of duty in October said the recognition he has received has been undeserved.
Timothy Varner and his wife, Tabitha, were invited Thursday, Dec. 5, to the Salvation Army of Lubbock advisory board’s annual Christmas luncheon at the Lubbock Country Club.
The luncheon is both a fundraising event and a way to show appreciation to the organization’s supporters in the community, according to spokesman Justin Eatherly.
“For me it was a blessing to be involved in an event such as this,” Varner said. “I’m blessed to be a part of it.”
