SAN ANTONIO
A daylong police standoff that began with the shooting of a San Antonio police officer ended after nine hours with no further bloodshed.
Police said the standoff at a Super 8 Motel just off Interstate 35 on the northern edge of downtown San Antonio ended about 5 p.m. Monday without further injury.
The man suspected of shooting a police officer about 8 a.m. at the motel was taken into custody.
Meanwhile, police said the wounded officer was resting comfortably in a nearby hospital and was expected to recover.
