The Lubbock Economic Index reached a new high of 135.3 for June. That’s 7.5 percent higher than the level for June 2012. Lubbock’s economy grew at a 5.8 percent rate for the first six months of 2013, and retail sales were up 6.8 percent during the same time period over last year. Lubbock’s economic health, reflected in recent index reports, is very encouraging.
