More than 1,100 people and six pigs rocked the V8 Ranch on Saturday evening, July 27, at the annual Cattle Baron’s Ball.
This year’s American Cancer Society fundraiser brought an “edgier” feel to the usually country-and-western-themed event. The new feel was the doings of co-chairwoman Arlene Matthews.
The Tejas Brothers and Downtown Fever entertained the crowd, which helped Lubbock’s chapter of the American Cancer Society raise about $350,000 for patient research and services. Tickets for the event varied from $250 to $6,000.
