The new fracking techniques developed by Texas Tech Engineering Department Chairman Dr. Mohamed Soliman and two students were made possible by a grant from the Mary Livermore Foundation. She was the wife of George Livermore, a successful West Texas oil wildcatter of the early 1900s.
The significance of this event is not the discovery of a new fracking technique but how donations to educational institutions affect people’s lives for generations by improving the quality of life as well as providing jobs.
