City Attorney Sam Medina offered an Independence Day public prayer in Mackenzie Park, reported the A-J’s Walt Nett, that reflected on the nation’s founders, who saw the 13 colonies for what they were in 1776 and considered what the nation could become.
It became the greatest nation on earth and Lubbock knows how to celebrate the 4th of July.
Two street dances, a gathering for Early Settlers, parade, street fair featuring lots of food and music, picnic in the park, a concert and, finally, fireworks visible for miles around Mackenzie Park.
