AUSTIN — The finger-pointing has begun.
Just hours after the historic meltdown in the Texas Senate ended early Wednesday, Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson sharply criticized Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, the presiding officer of the 31-member chamber.
“Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst must go,” Patterson, a former senator, said. “I strongly believe he has lost his grip on the reins of the Senate and his horse has run wild.”
Later in the day, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples, also a former senator, was just as critical in a fundraising letter.
